Credit Cards

Here are the credit cards that we have found offer the best travel perks:

Chase Sapphire Preferred
– Great sign up bonus, and points that you earn can be transferred to a number of travel partners including Southwest Airlines and Hyatt hotels.  Here’s a great review for the pros and cons from GET.com.  The annual fee is $95, but waived in the first year.

Chase Hyatt Visa
– The sign up bonus alone is worth it — spend $1,000 in the first three months and receive two free hotel stays at any Hyatt in the world.  We are using our two free nights in Los Cabos at the all-inclusive Hyatt Ziva resort, which would normally cost us over $300 per night.  The freebie doesn’t end there though — keep the card for the next year and you’ll receive one free night at a category 1-3 Hyatt hotel.  The annual fee is $75, but waived in the first  year.

Chase IHG Visa
– Sign up bonus of 70,000 points after spending $2,000 in the first three months.  IHG has over 5,000 locations around the world, and you can use these points to book accommodation that ranges from 5,000 points to 50,000 points.  Another great perk is upon card renewal, you will receive an anniversary free night valid at any IHG hotel worldwide.  The annual fee is a very reasonable $49, and it is also waived in the first year.
